Install the plugin and enter your license key

3Designer is a small WordPress plugin. It connects your shop to the 3Designer server, which serves the designer itself. Your designs, products and print files stay on your own site.

What you need

• WordPress 6.3 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer.
• WooCommerce, installed and active.
• The plugin’s zip file and your license key, both from your subscription.

Install the plugin

1. In WordPress, open Plugins → Add Plugin and click Upload Plugin.
2. Choose the zip file and click Install Now.
3. Click Activate Plugin. A 3Designer item appears in the admin menu.

Enter your license key

1. Open 3Designer → Settings.
2. Under Connection, paste your license key into the key field.
3. Click Save and check connection.
4. Status should now say Connected.

What the status means

• Connected: the designer is on.
• Server unreachable: your shop could not reach the 3Designer server just now. It keeps running the last version it loaded, for up to three days.
• Designer is off: the message beside it says why. Check your license key first.

Which addresses count as a shop

A plan covers a number of live shops, and this screen shows the addresses your license is in use on. A staging copy on its own address counts as a shop. Addresses such as localhost, .local and .test never count, so you can build and test freely.

Updates

New versions of the designer reach your shop from the server, with nothing to update. The plugin itself updates like any other, from the WordPress updates screen.
